The Right to Bear Arms

How do peoples' perceptions about the second amendment differ between gun owners and non-gun owners?

The purpose of my observational study is to find out how people react to current political issues concerning the right to bear arms.  Are people willing to concede that some restrictions are warranted for their own protection from people who "abuse the system," who carry concealed weapons with violent intent, or do they believe that an amendment which was drafted to enable the states to raise a state-militia grants them the right to bear arms, though unaffiliated with this group?
